Marius Dan started doing martial arts while still in high school at the Degerberg Academy in 1989 where he studied mainly Muay Thai and boxing. After 2 years there he started training at the Aiki Training Hall in Skokie with Rick Sollo and other fighters and instructors such as Mark Streator, Tim Tokarz, Tim Fernandez and George and Achour Esho. He became a certified instructor under Ajarn Chai Sirisute in 1996. After a short undefeated career in Muay Thai cut short due to chronic back injuries, he has been concentrating on training others in boxing and Muay Thai. He made a brief return to the ring in 2003 to earn a Chicago Golden Glove Title belt at the age of 33. The next year he traveled to Bangkok, Thailand to train at the Fairtex camp. Since then he’s trained many students and fighters at the Aiki Training Hall.
